"Cholo Contemporaneous" is a bold reclaiming of a word once used to marginalize. Through this inaugural collection, the artist redefines “cholo” not as a slur, but as a symbol of power, resilience, and layered cultural identity.

Each piece presents a stylized portrait of a figure both abstract and familiar: a character wearing a wide-brimmed hat, their face fragmented and expressive, painted with forceful strokes and vibrant contrasts. These characters are not anonymous they are guardians of heritage, dignity, and strength, standing with quiet authority against muted, textural backgrounds that echo both history and modernity.

This series invites the viewer to confront cultural biases, question stereotypes, and embrace the complexity of identity. The figures are not hiding they are being seen, fully and unapologetically.
